Quite disappointing. We've played this game for years, but didn't remember ALL of the rules. We were counting on the directions inside the box, but it didn't come with ANY.
Note that It's a competitive card game (played either in teams or individually) and strategy requires sticking your opponent(s) with bad cards, so players should be of an age where they can be good sports about not just winning and losing, but also about doing so at the hands of their opponent(s). For those whom have played MIlle Bornes before, you're in for a great nostalgia trip with the vintage design cards; the sturdy plastic draw card holder and over all packaging don't disappoint either.For those whom haven't played the game before, there can be a bit of a learning curve with the directions, (which could stand to be written a bit more clearly) but well worth it. Insofar as there is arithmetic involved it's somewhat educational (also introduces some french vocab, as the cards are printed in the original french- though not to worry, the iconography and directions make the meanings of the cards clear enough).
It brought back a lot of good memories. This is a fun card game that we used to play when we were kids.
Buy this collectors edition instead of the new one, we bought both but the original cards have much better graphics and are fun to play with, besides they are also good quality and durable. This is a fun game to play up to 8 Players, we usually play two teams, I recommend not needing the Roll card (Green Light) as original instructions mention every time after using a mend card, it speeds up the game and makes it more fun.
Don't let the tray comment keep you from the fun that you an your family will have playing this game. The game is fabulous, but the tray is flimsy, cheap and difficult to use.
